Gavin is one of Western Australia’s leading independent mortgage brokers.

With over 20 years experience in the mortgage and real estate industry, Gavin founded Mortgage Advice Plus (MAP) on a client-centred philosophy. “My guiding principle is to secure the right mortgage for my clients so that they’ll come back to me when they move house or buy an investment property,” he says. “But besides that, my personal experience in the industry means I can help clients with most elements of a transaction, whether that involves dealing with real estate agents, negotiating with buyers and sellers, or even what to ask when selecting a settlement agent.”

Before establishing MAP, Gavin’s professional career included ten years at BankWest, where he gained invaluable lending experience through various departments culminating in his position as Senior Lender, as well as five years managing a mortgage broking business in Victoria. Prior to Victoria, Gavin was a well established and frequently awarded mortgage broker in the western suburbs of Perth for five years.

His capabilities in property finance extend beyond conventional home loans and are supported by his Associate Diploma (Real Estate) Certificate in Settlement Agent Practice and a Certificate in Finance Broking. Gavin is also a full member of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia.

The vast majority of clients come to MAP through word of mouth referral. The high level, personal service provided by Gavin ensures that all mortgage applications are dealt with swiftly and effectively. MAP is a boutique broking firm which means you will stay in contact with Gavin throughout the entire process and will not be handed over to an administrative staff member or inexperienced broker after the initial consultation.

Based in Subiaco, Gavin is a well-known identity, often to be seen advising clients in one of the local coffee houses, or being taken for a walk by his Golden Retriever, Brandy.
